Welcome to Arepo! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Arepo AI knowledge assistant service. By using Arepo, you agree to these Terms.
Quick Summary: Use Arepo responsibly. You own your data. We provide the service "as-is" without guarantees. Don't abuse the platform. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, uploading documents, or using any part of Arepo, you agree to:

- Our Privacy Policy
- All applicable laws and regulations
If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use Arepo.
2. Eligibility
To use Arepo, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
- Have the authority to enter into this agreement
- Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
If you are using Arepo on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Account Registration
Account Creation
- You must provide a valid email address and choose a secure passphrase
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Account Security
- Use a strong, unique passphrase
- Do not share your account credentials with others
- Enable any available security features
- Log out after each session on shared devices
4. Acceptable Use Policy
Permitted Uses
You may use Arepo to:
- Upload and manage your own documents and knowledge bases
- Ask questions and receive AI-generated answers
- Integrate with your Slack workspace (with proper authorization)
- Export your data at any time
Prohibited Uses
You may NOT:
- Upload illegal content: Child exploitation material, terrorist content, or content that violates laws
- Violate copyrights: Upload content you don't own or have permission to use
- Abuse the service: Excessive API calls, attempting to overload systems, or denial-of-service attacks
- Reverse engineer: Attempt to extract our source code, models, or proprietary algorithms
- Impersonate others: Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Scrape or harvest: Systematically extract data from other users
- Harmful content: Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Spam: Send unsolicited messages or advertisements through the service
- Bypass limitations: Circumvent tier limits, rate limits, or security measures
5. Service Tiers and Pricing
Freemium Tier
- Up to 100 documents
- 1,000 questions per month
- Basic Slack integration
- No service level agreement (SLA)
- Community support
Pro Tier
- Up to 1,000 documents
- 10,000 questions per month
- All integrations
- Priority support
- 99% uptime SLA
Enterprise Tier
- Unlimited documents and questions
- Dedicated support
- Custom integrations
- 99.9% uptime SLA
- On-premise deployment options
Pricing: Current pricing is available at arepo.cloud/#pricing. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.
6. Data Ownership and Licensing
Your Data
- You own your data: All documents, questions, and content you upload remain your property
- License to operate: You grant Arepo a limited license to process, store, and transmit your data solely to provide the service
- No training: We do not use your data to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing you service
- Deletion: You can delete your data at any time through your account settings
Our Intellectual Property
- Arepo's software, algorithms, and branding are our property
- You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works
- Feedback you provide may be used to improve the service
7. Service Availability
Uptime
- Freemium: Best-effort availability, no SLA
- Pro: 99% monthly uptime SLA (excludes scheduled maintenance)
- Enterprise: 99.9% monthly uptime SLA with dedicated support
Maintenance
- We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
- Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
- We will communicate service disruptions via email and status page
Service Changes
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time
- We will provide reasonable notice for material changes
- Paid subscribers may receive refunds for discontinued features
8. Third-Party Integrations
Slack Integration
- You authorize Arepo to access your Slack workspace with the requested permissions
- Arepo will only read messages directed to it (@mention or DM)
- You can revoke access at any time through Slack's app settings
- Slack's Terms of Service apply to your use of Slack
Other Integrations
Future integrations (Discord, email, phone) will be subject to additional terms and the respective platform's policies.
9. Termination
By You
- You may close your account at any time
- Your data will be retained for 30 days (grace period), then permanently deleted
- Paid subscriptions are non-refundable (except as required by law)
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- You engage in fraudulent activity
- Your account is inactive for 12+ months (with 30 days notice)
- Required by law or legal process
- We discontinue the service entirely (with 90 days notice)
Effect of Termination
- Access to your account and data will be revoked
- You may export your data before termination
- Provisions regarding liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Service provided "as-is": Arepo is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- No guarantee of accuracy: AI-generated answers may be incorrect or incomplete
- Limited liability: Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months (minimum $100)
- No consequential damages: We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Force majeure: We are not responsible for failures due to circumstances beyond our control
Important: Arepo is an AI assistant tool. Always verify critical information from authoritative sources. Do not rely solely on Arepo for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arepo, its affiliates, and service providers from claims arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Content you upload
- Violation of these Terms
- Infringement of third-party rights
12. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Arbitration
For disputes exceeding $10,000:
- Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- Arbitration will be conducted by JAMS under their Streamlined Arbitration Rules
- You waive the right to participate in class actions
- Small claims court remains available for eligible claims

13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be:
- Posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date
- Sent to your email for material changes
- Effective 30 days after posting (or immediately for legal compliance)
Continued use of Arepo after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, you must stop using the service.
14. Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Arepo.
Severability
If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or successor.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, wars, pandemics, etc.).

16. Special Provisions for Slack Integration
When you install Arepo in your Slack workspace:
- You authorize Arepo to access your workspace with the requested OAuth scopes
- Arepo will only read messages where it is @mentioned or in direct messages to the bot
- Arepo will not read messages in channels where it is not explicitly mentioned
- You can revoke Arepo's access at any time through Slack's app management
- Workspace administrators have the right to uninstall Arepo for all users
- Uninstallation will disconnect the bot and optionally delete your documents (per your choice)
Workspace Administrator Responsibilities:
- Ensure you have authority to install third-party apps in your Slack workspace
- Review the permissions requested by Arepo before installation
- Inform workspace members about the installation and capabilities of Arepo
- Comply with your organization's IT and security policies
